You’ve got a dream.

It’s big and audacious… and terrifying.

Or maybe it’s small by “other people’s” standards, but it still scares the bejeebies out of you.  

Of course you’re afraid. (Duh.)  

The thing you alone came to this planet to do has never been done before. You could say that your soul incarnated to make it happen.     

The VERY good news is that whatever your dream is and wherever you are in the process, you’re not alone.

And you will make it happen. Promise.   

Others have gone before you, but their dreams aren’t yours — YOUR dream is like your fingerprint, it’s uniquely your own.

However, their methods of getting there are tried and true.   

Here, bestselling author and inspirational speaker, Danielle LaPorte (The Firestarter Sessions) shares her Credo for Getting Things Done.
 

1.  You’ll Figure it Out.
Your new mantra? “I’ll figure it out.” So, right now, strike these words from your vocabulary: “I don’t know what to do.” Because you do.  
 

2.  Life is on Your Side.
Everything that has happened in your life to this point has brought you here. Everything in the history of humanity has led you to the point. Or, as Danielle says, “You’ve got a whole lot of life force on your side.”  
 

3.  Fresh Start.
Start with the empty page, the blank canvas, the unwritten business plan, the empty seat on the airplane with your name on it… Is it all too new, too unknown to you? Good. Beginner’s mind is an open mind, and an open mind innovates.

4.  Fear is Natural.
Fear is part of the creative process. Don’t wait for the fear to go away.  Feel it, respect it, then move forward.
 

5.  Make Tough Choices.
Contrary to what we’ve all been told, you can’t have it all. For every YES, there must be an accompanying no. So, what are you willing to give up to make IT happen? (However, you can have all your dreams…)

6.  Passion is the Fuel.
Tend the fire inside you. Aim for passion, not balance. Balance is a myth.  
  

7.  Come Out.
Tell us your dream. When you declare and share it you’re accountable and help-able.  

8.  Do It Now.
Perfection is procrastination. Every masterpiece ever done could’ve been better. So launch and learn.


9.  You’re Growing.
The Universe is expanding, and so are YOU. Think about it: Your dream coming true is part of the evolution of the universe… No wonder it feels SO big!


10.  Integrity.
Do what you say you’re going to do. Every minute and every step towards your dream MATTERS. It matters more than getting the laundry done or washing the kitchen floor.


11.  Focus.
Keep pointed to where you want to go. EVERY day do a little more of what you want to do and a little less of what you don’t.
